An exhibition titled New Folk Art, New Style, New Life—How Art Is Enriching Rural Culture is underway at the National Art Museum of China from January 10 to February 1. The exhibition highlights contemporary rural art, showcasing nearly 30 examples from across the country.
Rooted in China's long-standing agrarian civilization, rural art forms originate from working people's everyday customs and their aspirations for a better quality of life. They have become a spirited part of China's cultural heritage.
This artful initiative aligns with national efforts to revitalize the rural areas through culture. In September 2025, seven departments, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, jointly issued a policy outlining a blueprint for empowering rural communities through arts and culture.
