Running from January through April at the Capital Museum in Beijing, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Temple Fair Culture Exhibition offers visitors a sweeping look at a time-honored tradition. Featuring over 260 cultural relics and folk artifacts, the exhibition captures the colorful essence of temple fair culture.
What exactly is a temple fair? Traditionally held at temple sites, these festive gatherings bring communities together through ritual ceremonies, folk performances, bustling food stalls, handcrafted goods and spirited celebration. The ongoing exhibition brings that energy indoors.
Through dynamic displays and immersive techniques, it recreates beloved scenes including stilt walking and lion dances. It invites visitors to experience a living tradition that has animated north China for centuries.
