Every summer, as the plateau thaw gives way to gentle warmth, Flower Lake in Zoige County, nestled within Sichuan Province's Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, awakens into its most spectacular season.
Sitting at an average elevation of 3,430 meters, this high-altitude gem spans approximately 215 hectares of pristine freshwater marshland. But Flower Lake is far more than a scenic postcard. It functions as a major water conservation zone in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. The area is also China's largest black-necked crane habitat.
