This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). In his speech at the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO and a joint summit of the leaders of the SCO and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states on the Afghanistan issue on September 17 in Beijing via video link, Chinese President Xi Jinping advocated a closer SCO community with a shared future so as to contribute more to lasting global peace and common prosperity.
