A reception was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) on September 30, 2024. President Xi Jinping attended the event and delivered a major speech. He stressed that since the founding of the PRC 75 years ago, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has led the Chinese people in strenuous efforts, achieving two major miracles: rapid economic development and long-term social stability. China has undergone tremendous changes, and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical process, Xi said. He pointed out that on the new journey in the new era, Chinese people will score more remarkable achievements and make greater contributions to the noble cause of peace and development of humanity. China's National Day falls on October 1. Xi is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
