The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) has ensured the central authorities exercise overall jurisdiction while accurately implementing the high degree of autonomy. 

Macao residents widely enjoy law-based rights and freedom, as the Macao SAR has seen an orderly development in its democratic political system. 

Macao has become one of the safest cities in the world since its return to the motherland, by swiftly tackling security problems that existed before the return.  

Macao compatriots have a tradition of patriotism, as well as a strong sense of national identity, belonging and national pride, which is the most important reason for Macao's success in the "one country, two systems" practice. 

Macao should focus on the aspects and major projects, which are selected based on the region's conditions and well-conceived procedures, in order to appropriately diversify its economy. 

For now, particularly, efforts should be made in terms of cooperation between Macao and neighboring Zhuhai for the development of Hengqin, which will broaden space and create new driving force for Macao's long-term development. 

Since the return of Hong Kong and Macao to the motherland, the affairs of the two special administrative regions have completely been China's internal affairs, which need no finger-pointing from any external forces.
