China's crude steel output totaled 904 million tons in the first 11 months of 2019, up 7 percent year on year. While the steel output posted steady growth amid increasing market demand, steel enterprises saw shrinking profit due to the higher costs of raw materials and environmental protection efforts, as well as the lower sales prices of steel products.
China is projected to have cut electricity costs by about 64.1 billion yuan for industrial and commercial businesses in 2019. To invigorate growth, the country has in recent years adopted an array of measures to reduce business burdens, including additional tax breaks and lower administrative fees.
The Nanjing Lukou International Airport, Jiangsu Province in east China, handled more than 30 million passengers in 2019, becoming the 10th busiest airport on the Chinese mainland. The airport, which was put into operation in 1997, has more than 270 domestic and overseas air routes linking over 150 cities around the world.
